French bankers get more holiday but are too scared to take it

It’s become a trope that bankers in Europe do no work in the summer. While American bankers have week long vacations interrupted by vice presidents with “please fix” requests, French bankers in particular are supposed to spend all August in small shorts in St. Tropez.

In fact, many are stuck in the office.

A survey of 200 bankers split between France, the UK and the US by banking automation company Upslide, found that only 59% of French bankers take all their leave, compared to 76% in the US and 66% in the UK. Bizarre detail in man’s holiday pool snap: ‘Holy s**t’

A man is going viral after he shared a snap of himself in the pool with a stranger he met during his holiday.

The tourist, who goes by Sean Douglas Mcardle on Reddit, is smiling in the pool wearing a cap and dark-rimmed sunglasses.

However, next to him is a man who looks like his identical twin, despite the fact he just met him in the Vegas pool. His doppelgänger also sported similar facial stubble, glasses and hat.

“I wasn’t convinced until now … we are definitely in a simulation,” Sean posted on Reddit alongside the photo.

“Today I randomly swam past my doppelseaner (sic) at the Flamingo pool in Vegas.”

People were shocked by the strange encounter, with many also suggesting they looked like the brothers of famous actor Seth Rogen.

The holiday shopping season is getting off to an earlier start this year as consumers stung by high inflation attempt to stretch their budgets.

Driving the news: Walmart unwrapped its annual top toy list Tuesday, nearly a month earlier than last year, with the addition of a new budget-friendly category — toys under $25.

  • Like in past years, Walmart’s list includes Lego, Hot Wheels and Barbie toys along with trending products from Cocomelon, LOL Surprise and Magic Mixies.
  • Walmart said the list includes “more Rollbacks on toys” to give consumers “deeper savings” on top of “everyday low prices.”

The big picture: Expect the toy wars to heat up this year with Macy’s adding Toys R Us shops to every store by Oct. 15.

By the numbers: Online prices declined by 1% in July, compared with
